All the food we ordered was excellent ! We had plenty of leftovers to take home.
The setting was very nice for our group of 5 celebrating 2 family birthdays.
Excellent service on a Sunday night.

Can't say its that great for dim sum. The seating made you wait even though they had plenty of free tables, it just didn't make sense and the host ladies were unnecessarily rude ‍.

The rice noodles with shrimp inside was cold and tasted a bit stale. The beef tripe with ginger was undercooked and lukewarm. My friend compared the beef trip to tasting like wet cloth and had a similar texture. Bleh. The shu mai was pretty good though. Prob wouldn't come back.

Ming's is related to the much lower-key location (now closed) in Quincy, and this Malden location has more finesse to its decor. But they have similar characteristics when it comes to their food.

The portions are rather generous, even though the quality isn't amazing (but then, I'm a Cantonese food snob). The egg white dried scallop fried rice is flavorful and has a reasonable amount of wok heat. The salt and pepper pork chops weren't totally crispy but had enough savory spice to it.

Dim sum is one of the better places in the area (the bar ain't high here for me), so that brings it up to 4-stars. The mainstays are done well enough, like the har gow, siu mai, and dan tat. Sometimes you have to go to the carts to procure foods, as some of the paths around tables are so narrow that the carts don't bother trying to get through. Carpe diem, I suppose.

Ming's Seafood Restaurant in Malden seems rather popular to the Chinese community as evidenced by a Saturday evening in November when every table filled up and some turned over during the night.

Impressively sized Alaskan king crabs were but two in the fish tanks by the restrooms by our evening's end, as we had witnessed the presentation of several of the gangly hard shelled creatures to the tables which ordered them.

The dishes for our banquet style meal was fine.  Two things that stood out to me was the two-in-one dish of Crispy Fried Tofu with Shrimp & Sea Conch, and the large whole shrimp scattered about the fried rice.  Our dinner ended with bowls of warm red bean soup.

Service was okay for the most part, but did have a few missteps: 1) serving chicken fingers (we had a number of kids, okay?) without the duck sauce, and 2) handling out bottles of soda to each table without providing us glasses beyond the tea cups which were already on the table.

Surprisingly really good dim sum. We came here to visit my husband's family and they recommended this place. As all dim sum places are, they are always busy on weekends. Lots of variety on dishes. It is also next to the public parking nearby.
